Press Release Summary: Recently on the occasion of 61 years of Indian Independence, \'Utsav\' organised a two day musical programme \"Saare Jahan Se Accha 2008 - the spirit of India\'s Independence\" at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. On this occasion well known personalities from the world of Indian Classical Music & Dance; Ranjana Gauhar, Ashok Ghosal, Shubha Mudgal, Rama Vaidhanathan, Rajendra Gangani, Rajendra Prasanna and Abhay Rustam Sopori mesmerized the audience with their performance.

On this occasion well known personalities from the world of Indian Classical Music & Dance; Ranjana Gauhar, Ashok Ghosal, Shubha Mudgal, Rama Vaidhanathan, Rajendra Gangani, Rajendra Prasanna and Abhay Rustam Sopori mesmerized the audience with their performance. During the programme Smt. Gursharan Kaur, Pandit Bhajan Sopori, Smt. Aparna Sopori, Smt. Sonal Mansingh, Ragini Rainu, Rashid Mustafa, Dr. Balyan, Akram Khan and many others were present there. The first day belonged to Ranjana Gauhar (Odissi), Ashok Ghosal (Odissi) and Shubha Mudgal (Hindustani Vocal) who enthralled the audience, while the second day belonged to Rama Vaidyanathan (Bharatanatyam), Rajendra Gangani (Kathak), Pt. Rajendra Prasanna (Flute) and Abhay Rustum Sopori (Santoor). Special attraction of the second evening was the Jugalbandi of two maestros Pt. Rajendra Prasanna & Abhay Rustum Sopori as they were performing together after the gap of almost 3 years. They started with Raaga Rageshwaree in which they performed some special parts of Allap Joda along with different shades in Teen Taal. During the concert they also performed a Bandish - \'Phulwan ki Maala...,\' a Tarana \'Ta Num Tadare...\' and a fast composition in Ati Drut... the Bandish & Tarana were also sang by Abhay. The maestros were accompanied on the tabla by Ustad Rafi-u-ddin Sabri. Both the maestros performed at their best, it looked like as if the two musical streams are meeting in full flow at one platform. All the performances were appreciated by the audience.
